GSE Systems gets $750K grant for nuclear reactor procedures – Maryland Daily Record: A Columbia provider of engineering, staffing, and simulation software to the power and process industries has received a $750,000 federal grant to develop procedures and decision-support solutions for advanced nuclear reactors. GSE Systems Inc. and Idaho National Laboratory received the grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. The grant has a goal of developing and commercializing a system that can revolutionize operator and system efficiency when compared to existing paper-based processes. The system being developed will use dynamic procedure decision support for control room operations, with emphasis on data analytics, as well as improved user interfaces and functionality, according to GSE. Dr. Bahram Meyssami, GSE’s chief technology officer, said the collaboration is helping to make a new operating paradigm for the nuclear industry.
