ITER: The Giant Fusion Reactor—book review by plasma physicist who heads Large Hadron Collider - Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists: In his review of Michel Claessens’ new book ITER: The Giant Fusion Reactor, Lucio Rossi says that this fusion experiment in France is taking twice as long as planned, costing more than double, and that “I have not met a single knowledgeable person who did not strongly express that ITER is a textbook case of bad management” [in its early days]. Rossi, project leader of the High Luminosity-Large Hadron Collider on the Swiss border, also says that’s par for the course for international Big Science.
