# India targets major increase in nuclear energy capacity by 2050
India's development plan for nuclear energy is aimed at raising the country's atomic capacity by 12,000% by 2050, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said. The target is nearly five times the capacity of the U.S., the largest nuclear producer in the world, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency.
