International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano today said he could not verify that Iran's entire nuclear program was strictly nonmilitary in nature, the Associated Press reported. Amano blamed his uncertainty over Iran's nuclear intentions on the country's interference with U.N. nuclear monitoring activities. The United States and its allies have expressed concern that some of the Persian Gulf nation's atomic activities could support weapons development, but Tehran has insisted its nuclear ambitions are purely peaceflu.
