Official: China to boost development of clean-energy sources
China intends to boost its consumption of clean energy from 8% now to 11.4% by 2015, said Zhang Guobao, former head of the National Energy Administration and a member of the Standing Committee of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The country needs to curb its reliance on coal and focus on the development of nuclear, wind and solar energy, he added. China is building 28.71 million kilowatts of nuclear capacity.
