Looming Crisis of Confidence in Japan's Nuclear Intentions

In the wake of the Fukushima accident in 2011, Japan is now attempting
to reinstate its nuclear energy program; the country had planned to
generate half of its electricity from nuclear power by 2030. With Prime
Minister Shinzo Abe's focus on the economy and actions that have hinted
to a return to militarism, there are concerns that with a sophisticated
nuclear energy program, there may be nuclear weapons capability as well.
