Kozloduy Signs Contract For Safety Assessment Of Westinghouse Fuel :: The Independent Global Nuclear News Agency: Bulgaria’s Kozloduy nuclear power station signed a contract with Westinghouse Electric Sweden on Thursday for the preparation of a safety assessment to be used in the licensing process before the introduction of Westinghouse-made nuclear fuel.
Kozloduy said in a statement that the contract is part of the station’s efforts to diversify its fuel supplier portfolio as required by the European Union’s energy security strategy.

Iran deepens breach of nuclear deal at underground enrichment site: Iran has deepened a key breach of its 2015 nuclear deal, enriching uranium with a larger number of advanced centrifuge machines in an underground plant as it faces off with the new U.S. administration on salvaging the accord. Tehran has recently accelerated its breaches of the deal, raising pressure on U.S. President Joe Biden as both sides say they are willing to come back into compliance with the badly eroded agreement if the other side moves first. Senate Energy Committee Approves Granholm's Nomination
Today the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee approved the nomination of Jennifer Granholm to be Secretary of Energy by a vote of 13-4. Granholm's nomination will now move to a full Senate consideration. A date for Senate consideration has not yet been determined.
