Rosatom said the gross power of the 1,085-MW Generation III+ pressurised water reactor, or VVER, has been increased to 240 MW, or 20%, with the turbogenerator synchronised with the east European electric power grid.
Power will now be increased in steps to 100% with tests and inspections carried out at each power level.

I'm glad to let you know that the longstanding tradition of my running
media events in conjunction with the United States Energy Association
(USEA) is being revived. For years I ran these as media breakfasts at
USEA's office in Washington, and later at my publishing group's office.
The first of these media events will take place virtually on Friday,
Oct. 23, 2020 at 11 a.m. EDT. I'll be moderating a panel of energy
leaders; Sheila Hollis, USEA acting executive director, will give brief
opening remarks; and Dominic Levings, USEA communications coordinator,
will manage and record the virtual event.

USEA To Hold Virtual Press Briefing Friday On Energy After The 2020 Election
Washington, D.C. – This Friday, October 23 at 11:00 am
EDT, the United States Energy Association (USEA) will hold a briefing
for members of the media to examine energy after the 2020 election. The
briefing will be moderated by syndicated columnist and broadcaster
Llewellyn King. Sheila Hollis, USEA Acting Executive Director, will give
brief opening remarks.
This virtual event is open to members of the media and any other
interested parties. Members of the media will be given preference in the
questioning. Every participant must register beforehand. Following the
event, a recording will be available on the USEA website.
