In California, a settlement was announced Tuesday that customers of Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas & Electric, as majority and minority owners of the San Onofre nuclear plant, had reached a $775 million compromise with attorneys representing customers on costs associated with closing down the plant. pressurizer in January is one of the highlights of the latest quarterly
"timeline" video released by Georgia Power this week. Noted earlier on
Nuclear Street, the pressurizer is a 225,000 pound component that will
provide pressure control inside the reactor coolant system once the unit
begins operating.
The component was fabricated in Italy and shipped to the Port of Savannah, where it was transferred to a rail car and sent to the construction site in Waynesboro, Ga. It arrived in August 2014 and completed its journey in January..
