The U.S. should construct more nuclear energy facilities and curb its dependence on offshore oil drilling and its dangers, according to Stan Davidson, a retired nuclear engineer. Nuclear plants follow "immediate and safe" procedures when shutting down, and they have "leak- and crash-proof containments," he argues.
