Swedish Nuclear Sites on Lookout After Discovery of Bomb Ingredients
Sweden's atomic energy sites were on guard Thursday following the discovery of bomb ingredients on a vehicle parked at a nuclear reactor plant located in the nation's southwest, the Associated Press reported (see GSN, Oct. 31, 2008).Law enforcement spokesman Tommy Nyman said investigators were looking into potential efforts to deliberately damage the Ringhals power plant but that they had not identified any possible culprits. Specially trained dogs found the explosives on a truck during a regular Wednesday afternoon circuit of the nuclear site by guards.
Authorities would not disclose what kind of explosives were found or the quantity.
