Crossroads On September 22 there will be a general election in Germany. In one of the most lack-luster campaigns in the post-war era Chancellor Merkel has done everything in her power to keep issues and policies out of the news. The assumption seems to be that if the German people have nothing to get excited about they will see no need for change and the CDU/FDP coalition will be re-elected.
