Hollande selects Lévy to take EDF top spot
French president Francois Hollande has selected Jean-Bernard Lévy
to replace Henri Proglio as chairman and CEO of French generator EDF.
Lévy will join the nuclear heavyweight from defence electronics company,

Sweden’s Vattenfall demands EUR4.7bn in damages for nuclear phase-out
Swedish energy group Vattenfall is demanding EUR4.7bn ($6bn) in
damages from Germany following Berlin's 2011 decision to phase out
nuclear power and shut several reactors, German government sources have
been reported to say according to several media.
Areva platform to replace wire installations
AREVA has finalized the development of a new generation of
long-range wireless communication platforms based on the LoRa™
(LongRange) technology developed by Semtech Corporation. These
platforms, which are connected to an array of smart sensors, provide
geolocalization of any type of equipment (tools, components, etc.) in
real-time and in complex industrial environments.
Rosatom opens regional centre in France
Rosatom State Corporation has launched a regional centre in Western Europe headquartered in Paris.
Sanctions have “no influence” on Russian part in ITER project
On October 13, at the 25th International Fusion Energy Conference
(FEC 2014) Rosatom State Corporation Deputy Director General Vyacheslav
Pershukov noted that the sanctions against Russia had no influence on
the RF participation in the International Thermonuclear Experimental
Plant (ITER) project.
Nuclear watchdog orders anti-radiation pills for Ontarians near power plants
Hundreds of thousands of people who live near Ontario’s nuclear
power plants will have to be given supplies of anti-radiation pills
under new orders from Canada’s nuclear regulator.
