Hello,

I am a science teacher at International Community School in Kirkland, Washington. Below is a message from four of my 8th grade Earth Science students. In our class, we study middle and high school Earth science concepts, including climate change. In this unit, my students have been challenged to develop, improve, and/or promote various solutions to climate change, and also encouraged to reach out to people who may be able to help them, or benefit from their research.

Please read and respond to them through me if you wish, and I will forward it on to them.

Thank you!

Julie V.

Dear Manager of Public Affairs Department of Energy Northwest,

We are four eight grade students currently developing a climate change project for our Earth Science class at the International Community School in Kirkland, Washington. Via a multimedia platform, the focus of this project is to locally create a genuine and measurable impact on climate change. We have produced a website consisting of the basic scientific concepts of nuclear fission and the promotion of the Generation IV Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor. Our goal is to educate the public and rid them of the perpetual fear of nuclear energy’s apparent lack of safety.
Ultimately, this will increase the amount of supporters of local nuclear reactor development, and thus will help boost the production of clean energy. Given the reactor’s unprecedented safety features, efficient energy production, and minimalized cost, this is being done with the endorsement of the Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor. In order to enlighten the public, we require this information to be publicized. We would like to know if the Energy Northwest Company would be able to assist us with this in any possible way via the promotion of our website. The website URL is nuclearenergyclimate.weebly.com
Please let us know what you think.

Thank You,
            Svetoslav, Theo, Shruthi, and Landon
