Today, the Department of Energy announced the locations of the
consent-based siting initiative’s eight public meetings around the
country. The purpose of these meetings is to hear from the public,
communities, states, Tribal Nations,
and all interested stakeholders on what matters to you as we move
forward in developing a consent-based siting process.
Our first public meeting will be held in Chicago, Illinois on March 29th at the University of Chicago Conference Center. Our second public meeting will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on April 11th
at the Georgia Institute of Technology
Conference Center. We will also be hosting six more public meetings
through the month of July. The remaining six meeting will be held in
Boise, Idaho; Boston, Massachusetts; Denver, Colorado; Minneapolis,
Minnesota; Sacramento, California; and Tempe, Arizona.
Please visit energy.gov/consentbasedsiting
to register to attend the Chicago or Atlanta meetings in person or to
join the meeting via webcast. As registration opens for the other six
meetings,
we will post links on our website as well.
