Santee Cooper drops Southern Co. deal after sale concerns | The State: Santee Cooper’s board on Monday abandoned plans for an agreement with a major Georgia-based power company after top state lawmakers and Gov. Henry McMaster intervened, saying the deal would disrupt the General Assembly’s efforts to explore selling Santee Cooper.
