License Extended for Turkey Point Nuclear Plant | 2019-12-11 | Engineering News-Record: The Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved a 20-year license extension for Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Units 3 and 4, making them the first nuclear plants approved to operate for 80 years. The Florida Power & Light units, south of Miami, can generate up to 2,503 MW of electricity. Unit 3’s renewed license expires July 19, 2052. Unit 4’s renewed license expires April 10, 2053.
