Work starts on WIPP's biggest ventilation shaft : Waste & Recycling - World Nuclear News: Excavation work has begun for a new ventilation shaft at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico, USA. The start of work on the USD75 million shaft, which is integral to increasing ventilation to the WIPP underground, is a top priority project in the US Department of Energy Office of Environmental Management's plans for this year.
