IAEA Praises Safety But Calls For Improvements As Mochovce-3 Nears Startup :: The Independent Global Nuclear News Agency: The operator of Unit 3 of the Mochovce nuclear power station has shown a commitment to safety, but plant managers should set high standards and expectations for plant operation and ensure they are rigorously applied, an International Atomic Energy Agency team said.

The Pre-Operational Safety Review Team (Pre-Osart) team, which concluded an 18-day mission to the plant on 5 December, identified a number of areas where further improvements can be made.

The team said operators should “fully develop and implement an integrated and strategic approach to support safe commissioning of the plant”.
