Nuclear Shutdown Has Hit Sales And Technological Knowhow, Says Survey :: The Independent Global Nuclear News Agency: The shutdown of Japan’s nuclear power plants while safety checks are carried out following the March 2011 Fukushima-Daichi accident has led to reduced sales and problems maintaining technological capabilities, a survey has shown.
According to the annual Japan Atomic Industrial Forum survey of the Japanese nuclear industry for fiscal 2018, 58% of nuclear sector companies said sales had fallen and 56% said they had seen a dilution of technology and knowhow.
They said there were fewer on-the-job opportunities in the industry and problems securing employment.
