On July 25th, Wang Binghua, President of State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation and his fellows visited KSB plant located in Mannhein, Germany, inspecting developing situation of CAP1400 full-scale wet winding pump prototype. At present, the prototype pump has completed manufacturing and passed motor no-load test and overload test on bearing and other key components. It will be delivered to Lingang base of Shanghai Electric to conduct engineering and durability test by the end of September this year.

CAP1400 demonstration engineering reactor has adopted two technical solutions of the shield pump and wet winding pump which are spare to each other. The wet winding main pump was jointly researched and developed by SNERDI and SEC-KSB, a joint venture between Shanghai Electric Group and KSB. In 2011, SNPTC State Nuclear Power Engineering Company and SEC-KSB signed a purchase contract on CAP1400 nuclear reactor coolant pump project. Under the contract, SEC-KSB is responsible of supplying four CAP1400 wet winding main pump.
At present, each key equipment research of CAP1400 demonstration project is undergoing smoothly. 25 items among 29 long-cycle equipments have signed development contract. And the researching of shield main pump, reactor pressure vessel, steam generator, large and half speed steam turbine, generator and other equipment are all progressing in accordance with the plan.
