Placement of the Unit 3 pressurizer in January is one of the highlights of the latest quarterly "timeline" video released by Georgia Power this week. Noted earlier on Nuclear Street, the pressurizer is a 225,000 pound component that will provide pressure control inside the reactor coolant system once the unit begins operating.

The component was fabricated in Italy and shipped to the Port of Savannah, where it was transferred to a rail car and sent to the construction site in Waynesboro, Ga. It arrived in August 2014 and completed its journey in January..

Georgia Power has released their quarterly timeline video clip, which highlights the placement and other significant progress at the project.
