Energy Dept. explores options to financially advance USEC
The Department of Energy is exploring buying some of USEC's experimental centrifuges as a way of helping the company financially. USEC is seeking funds from the government for the development of its American Centrifuge project in Ohio. "The Department is evaluating several options to move the project forward this year that would enable continued investment in the development of this technology while protecting taxpayer interests," said Jen Stutsman, a spokeswoman for the department.
