But first, utility wants N.C. to make iteasier to recoup cost from customers

 

Allowing utilities to quickly recover construction expenses without protracted hearings would help Duke Energy and Progress Energy fulfill their goal of developing new nuclear facilities, executives said. The companies could easily attract investors if they had the ability to recoup costs yearly, Duke added.
