Ann MacLachlan will celebrate her 30th year with The McGraw-Hill Companies this year. Before joining McGraw-Hill's Nuclear Publications - later incorporated into Platts - in 1982, Ann worked for King Publications, a Washington, DC-based energy, metals and defense publishing group. Among her positions there were managing editor of The Energy Daily and European editor of The Energy Daily, Defense Week and Metals Daily. She has a master's degree in linguistics from the University of Michigan. In 2001, she was honored with the cross of a knight in the Legion of Honor, France's highest civilian decoration, for her contributions to public understanding of nuclear power in France. Ann has participated as a panelist or moderator in numerous conferences on nuclear energy issues across Europe.
