Court sides with feds on environmental review for waste site
A federal court in New York ruled that the Energy Department properly assessed the environmental effects of a radioactive-waste facility in the western portion of the state. The Coalition on West Valley Nuclear Wastes and a resident filed a lawsuit claiming that the agency combined plans for short-term waste management and long-term goals for the site's closure instead of studying them separately. The court, however, said both issues could be addressed in the same review. CourthouseNews.com
