China is ramping up nuclear energy sector, Areva executive says
The U.S., which has 104 nuclear reactors, is the biggest nuclear energy producer in the world, but China is catching up, according to Areva executive Robert W. Poyser. Speaking at a forum in Wyoming sponsored by the Citizens for Uranium Resource Education, Poyser said that "China is going to be producing up to 100 reactors over the next 20 years, and we're sitting here trying to figure out what to do."
