NRC judges suspend action on Nevada's Yucca Mountain petitions
A panel of judges at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on Tuesday suspended hearings on the proposed termination of the Yucca Mountain nuclear-waste repository project in Nevada until a federal court resolves related legal challenges. It would be "judicial efficiency" to allow the issues to be heard first by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, said the judges from the agency's Atomic Safety and Licensing Board.
