Obama budget could boost B&W reactor projects
The Babcock & Wilcox Generation mPower Reactor could benefit from the Obama administration's proposed budget for fiscal 2012. The Department of Energy is requesting $67 million to help fund the development of small modular reactors. "Any time you can bring together this kind of a public-private funding arrangement, it really helps move technology like this forward a lot quicker and with a lot lower risk profile," said Rick Bonsall, vice president of business development for Generation mPower.
