An innovative small nuclear reactor FBNR is being developed under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Through the efforts of INPRO program of IAEA, a new era of nuclear energy is emerging. There will be a new paradigm for the nuclear reactors of the future fulfilling the new philosophies of reactor safety and environment protection.
Fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gas pollute the atmosphere with CO, CO2, SOx, NOx, etc., providing acid rains and changing the global climate by increasing the greenhouse effect, while nuclear energy does not produce these pollutants.
Renewable energies such as solar and wind, though have their merits, are not able to deliver sufficient energy required by the developing and developed countries.
The objective of the FBNR Project is to develop an innovative nuclear reactor to be small, simple in design, inherently safe, and passively cooled. It is to meet the requirements of being economic, safe, proliferation resistant and sustainable.
The FBNR technology is open to all. Your country, your research institutions, your researchers, and your investors are invited to participate in this project and join the emerging international consortium to develop the FBNR nuclear power reactor, where all members are stakeholders.
FBNR may be called the People’s Reactor. It is intended to be developed by the peoples for the peoples of the world in the spirit of cooperation and service to humanity. This project calls upon all the scientists and researchers of the world to contribute to this noble cause.
Please convey this invitation to all the interested institutions and researchers in your country.
Thanking you in advance for contributing to a new vision of solving the world´s energy problem. For detailed information click here www.rcgg.ufrgs.br/fbnr.htm or copy it to your URL.
Sincerely Yours,
Farhang Sefidvash,
Coordinator of the FBNR Project
