US NRC to use safety steps learned from Fukushima
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will soon implement seven of the 12 post-Fukushima Daiichi safety recommendations developed by a task force. The proposals cover plant personnel training, seismic and flooding studies, and "station blackout" standards. "Both industry and the NRC should focus on those matters that have the greatest safety significance and benefit," Nuclear Energy Institute spokesman Steve Kerekes said.
