Northwest endured a rigorous license-extension process for its Columbia
Generating Station in Washington state, contrary to critics' claims
that it was rubber-stamped, writes Mark Reddemann, the company's CEO.
The company worked to submit a comprehensive application to the Nuclear
Regulatory Commission, and reviews included on-site inspections and
technical data analysis. The extension of the plant's operating license
