Oyster Creek Nuclear Plant Exits Alert Status

Everything Apparently Back to Normal

The floodwaters receded, and Oyster Creek nuclear plant is back to normal.
The Director of the Office of Public Affairs at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission sent us (and probably a lot of other writers)  the following email:
The plant exited the Alert condition just before 4 a.m. All power has been restored to the site, the diesel generators are back in standby mode, and the water has receded.
We want to send a heartfelt thanks to the folks on the ground at Oyster Creek … both staff and NRC personnel.
They did a great job in a tough situation involving outdated equipment.  From the photos and videos we’ve seen, it looks like it was very hairy:
