PSEG: New nuke could help solve NJ generation, transmission constraint problems
N.J. stands to benefit from new nuclear generation, PSEG says
New
Jersey would benefit from the construction of a new nuclear plant as
the state addresses power transmission limits and retiring generation
capacity, according to PSEG Power. "Fossil fueled resources are
projected to have increased generation costs due to pending costs
associated with regulations on carbon dioxide emissions," the utility
said in a letter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. A nuclear
facility would help the state meet its goal of producing 70% of power
from clean sources by 2050, PSEG said. SNL Financial (free content)http://www.snl.com/Interactivex/article.aspx?CdId=A-16003670-13364
