Safe Used Nuclear Fuel Management in the U.S.

Safe Used Nuclear Fuel Management in the U.S.

As the United States struggles to overcome self-inflicted policy hurdles to implementing a safe used nuclear fuel management vision, the technology and processes already exist in the U.S. and have been safely fulfilling this duty for more than 45 years.
Mike McMahon, President and CEO of Transnuclear, Inc., an AREVA company, presented details on Transnuclear’s forward-thinking technologies at the INMM Spent Fuel Management Seminar this past week in Virginia.
McMahon also described the company’s vision and leadership for ensuring safe storage and transportation of used nuclear fuel in the U.S., and preparing for the “post-ISFSI” future of interim and consolidated storage.
