Even if he US Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved it, a Southern
California Edison request to amend the license of its San Onofre-2 nuclear
power reactor would not, in itself, authorize the unit's restart, NRC and
SoCal Ed said Thursday

and -3 have been shut since January 2012, when an unusual amount of
wear was found in the tubes of their replacement steam generators, which
