A number of different approaches in nuclear waste disposal are being researched, with the primary goal being the prevention of leakage. Burial designs can be assessed by analyzing the likely outcomes of potential failure modes using finite element analysis. The fully coupled temperature-displacement-pore pressure capability in Dassault Systèmes’ Abaqus can be used to perform such simulations.Check out this paper that maps out the results from the testing and will enable you to:
