Nuclear Power Institute of China (NPIC) recently claimed new achievement in the design, manufacture and testing of the linear motor type reactor control rod drive mechanism.
At present, the linear motor type control rod drive mechanism has been accepted and the model was certified as national invention patents.
Nuclear reactor control rod drive mechanism is a key equipment, able to follow instructions for the reactor control and protection system. It is also linked to the completion of the reactor startup, power regulation, power maintenance, normal shutdown and accident shutdown functions. At present, the international pressurized water reactors are commonly used to enhance magnetic reluctance motor type, etc.-and based on the principle of electromagnetic control rod drive mechanism.
