Georgia Power Releases 4th Quarter Timeline Video For Vogtle Construction
With 5,000 workers on site and a focus on safety –
with a goal of having zero reportable incidents – Georgia Power released
its fourth quarter timeline video, which highlights September through
December construction progress and caps the entire year's
accomplishments on the Vogtle 3 and 4 projects near Augusta, Ga.
The year's high points began with an “11 hundred ton lift,” of the CA20 building module placed into Unit 3's nuclear island and included the capping of the Unit 3 cooling tower at 601 feet. “The landscape has changed dramatically,” explains Buzz Miller, executive vice president of nuclear development at Georgia Power.
Work has also progressed on Unit 4, where the bottom head of the containment vessel was put into place at what will be, upon completion, the only four-unit nuclear power plant in the country.View Video>>>> http://nuclearstreet.com/nuclear_power_industry_news/b/nuclear_power_news/archive/2015/01/21/georgia-power-releases-4th-quarter-timeline-video-for-vogtle-construction-012102.aspx#.VMAPQMaKI-9
