Anti-nuke group sets talk on Vt. Yankee shutdown
itizens Awareness Network and the Safe and Green Campaign of Brattleboro, Vt., will host a forum and panel discussion regarding concerns over the closure and cleanup of the Vermont Yankee nuclear plant.
The event will be on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Marlboro College, 28 Vernon St., Brattleboro.
The discussion will include a question-and-answer
session, to provide information on what decommissioning entails.
Panelists Deb Katz, executive director of Citizens Awareness Network,
and Arne Gunderson of the Fairewinds Energy Education, will talk about
fuel transfer, emergency planning, dry cask storage and other topics, in
advance of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s public meeting to
discuss Entergy’s Post Shut Down Decommissioning Report.
