Construction On ACP1000 To Begin At Chinese NPP

China National Nuclear Corporation said Wednesday that construction of its third generation ACP1000 reactor would begin this week at the Fuqing nuclear power plant in Fujian province.

The ACP1000 design will be used for Units 5 and 6 at the plant as demonstration models that are expected to be the cornerstone of China's nuclear export ambitions. Areva Announces NUHOMS Contract And Bavarian Plant Milestone

The NUHOMS HSM-H system is designed to provide robust seismic resistance, which is achieved with reinforced concrete components, which are interlinked, side by side, rectangular modules. Read More>>>>

Nuclear power is the only generation system that requires voter approval in Maine, according to director of the governor's Energy Office Patrick Woodcock. Read More>>>>
