An Ecomodernist Manifesto Goes International Manifesto Translated into 8 Languages, With More Underway

An Ecomodernist Manifesto Goes International
Manifesto Translated into 8 Languages, With More Underway

From the moment An Ecomodernist Manifesto was published this past April, the authors envisioned the document being shared across the globe, read and passed along to new and growing audiences. Thanks to the help of translators (many of whom did the work without being asked),  the manifesto is available in 8 additional languages: French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, Swedish, Swahili, and Indonesian! On top of these, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and other languages are in the works, which will bring the count closer to 15. Check out the translations here.

More and more, international audiences are engaging with and debating ecomodernist ideas. Just recently, manifesto coauthor Joyashree Roy wrote a piece entitled "Rise of India: When and How?" that was translated for the German magazine Welt-sichten. In June, eight researchers and activists chartered the Ecomodernist Society of Finland, with the goal of "[defending] and [enhancing] the environment’s well-being while simultaneously increasing possibilities for human prosperity." Ecomodernists look forward to collaborating with this group in carrying out that work and the creation of other chapters. Read their charter (in English) here.http://ekomodernismi.fi/in-english/
