As would-be-buyers look to incorporate SMRs and advanced reactors into their energy portfolio, project financing is still a major challenge that is being faced across the global market.
Whilst SMRs and advanced reactors will undoubtedly have lower costs than large scale projects, the uncertainty over levelized and capital costs is a major concern for potential buyers and one that the industry must overcome.
Last year leading Wall Street representatives met to discuss how SMR project financing would take place and what the private sector would make of it.
