Sign up for the WINS Academy

As you know, WINS is a professional institute established in 2008 on the margins of the IAEA General Conference to provide a platform for personnel and managers with nuclear security accountabilities to share and promote best practices in nuclear security management. So far, we have published 36 best practice guides on a variety of topics and conducted 70 workshops in over 20 countries. These activities are provided free of charge to our members.

Just two years ago, and to meet the demand for demonstrable competence in nuclear security, we have launched the WINS Academy, the world’s first international certification programme for nuclear security management. So far, we have enrolled over 650 individuals from 70+ countries. The certification programme is based on a series of Modules that use a problem-based approach to learning that is practitioner-focused, hands-on, cross-functional and immediately useful. It sets out security as a strategic, operational activity to be implemented across the organisation and as a fundamental aspect of risk management and corporate reputation. Each course takes 40 hours of online self-study and ends with a proctored exam. You will find detailed information about each course we offer in the course structure (click here). Successful participants are certified by WINS as  Certified Nuclear Security Professionals (CNSP) and join the WINS Academy Alumni Network, so that they can benefit from continued professional development and help promote the benefits of certification.

If you wish to learn more, please visit our website (click here) or read the briefing note (click here) that has been prepared ahead of the 2016 Nuclear Industry Summit, which took place few weeks ago in Washington D.C. We are also proud to inform you that 12 countries (Canada, Finland, Hungary, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States) have signed a joint Gift Basket (click here) at the last Nuclear Security Summit in support of the IAEA INFCIRC/869, which aims at strengthening nuclear security implementation, in which they commit to further support the WINS Academy.

Because our goal is to promote certified professional development and the implementation of best practices worldwide, we price our certification programmes so they will be affordable to as many participants as possible. We have conducted research to benchmark the cost of our Academy programme against other relevant online certification programmes, and established that the cost of one programme is £600 (GBP). In addition, we provide discounts for bulk purchases to corporate members and companies. More information about this programme is provided in the briefing note.

For more information, please contact me and do not hesitate to share the information provided in this email in your network.

Best regards,
Brunelle
