EVENT INVITATION
People's Climate March, April 29, Washington, DC

Dear Michele,

On March 4, 1969, Henry Kendall and I, along with other faculty and students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, founded the Union of Concerned Scientists with a public event focused on redirecting scientific research to solve society's problems, rather than developing destructive technologies.

This March 4th, I'd like to ask you to march forth with us once more by participating in the People's Climate March, April 29, in Washington, DC.

We must demonstrate to the Trump administration and Congress that a broad and deep coalition of Americans demands climate action. Because I can no longer march with you in person, I am passing the baton to you, but I will be with you in spirit.

In the late sixties, we were already beginning to understand the emerging threat we faced from what we then termed "pollution-induced climatic and ecological changes." Almost 50 years later, climate change is well underway, and poses a grave and existential threat to humans and countless other species. We have the solutions to address this threat, and now we need the political will.

Register today to join us for the People's Climate March, April 29, in Washington, DC.

The People's Climate Movement is made up of representatives of labor, environmental justice, faith, and science organizations. Please, plan to march forth on April 29 to show our elected officials that the time for action is now.
Yours sincerely,
Kurt Signature
Kurt Gottfried
Board Chair Emeritus
