Nuclear Cleanup Caucus to Focus on Increasing Urgency in Cleanup at Sept. 13 Event
WASHINGTON, D.C. – DOE headquarters and site officials will participate in a panel discussion for the House Nuclear Cleanup Caucus on Wednesday, Sept. 13. Panelists will discuss increasing urgency in EM’s cleanup efforts.
Participants are Acting EM Assistant Secretary Jim Owendoff; Roger Jarrell, Senior Advisor to the Energy Secretary for EM; and
EM Savannah River Operations Office Manager Jack Craig. Ken Rueter,
president and project manager for URS|CH2M Oak Ridge, LLC, will moderate
the panel.
The caucus chair is Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (Tennessee) and the
co-chair is Rep. Ben Luján (New Mexico). The bipartisan caucus serves to
educate lawmakers about EM and advocate for cleanup in Congress.
Sponsored by the Nuclear Energy Institute, Energy Technology and
Environmental Business Association, and Energy Facility Contractors
Group, the event is at 5:30 p.m.
in Rooms 2043 and 2044 of the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol
Hill in Washington, D.C. A reception follows the panel discussion.
