It seems
H.R. 5895,
the "minibus" that contains FY 2019 Department of Energy funding, is
back on track. Reports from the conference negotiations indicate that
an agreement could come as soon as today, with a vote on the final bill
coming Wednesday in the House and at some point next week in the
Senate. The bill would then head to the President's desk for a
signature.
What prompted the turnaround
in negotiations? House Energy & Water Appropriations Ranking Member
Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) told reporters, "Some of the issues I thought would be big speed bumps have been resolved," and only one or two issues are still outstanding.
