DOE Aids Vogtle Nuclear Plant Energy Secretary Rick Perry announced today that the DOE will issue a $3.7 billion loan guarantee to finance the continued construction of Vogtle Units 3 and 4.   When complete, Vogtle looks to become one of the world's most advanced reactors, generating 17,200,000 megwatt-hours of energy. The plant will also create thousands of jobs while preventing 10 million metric tons of CO2 emissions annually.
