Senate EPW Hearing & Senate Appropriations Update
Next Tuesday, June 4th at 11:30 a.m. EST the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee
will hold a hearing on advanced nuclear technology. The hearing will
focus on protecting U.S. leadership in nuclear as well as expanding
opportunities for licensing new nuclear energy technologies.
Spending
bills have yet to move forward in the Senate. However, be on the
lookout for a potential Energy and Water Development markup in June.
Senate Appropriations
Chairman Richard Shelby (R-AL)
said Congress must first negotiate a deal to raise stringent budget caps
for fiscal 2020 and 2021, before the Senate appropriations markup
process can begin.
