EM Appoints Idaho Cleanup Project Manager

WASHINGTON, D.C.EM announced today the appointment of Connie Flohr as manager of the Idaho Cleanup Project (ICP) in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Since April 2017, Flohr has served as deputy manager of the ICP at DOE’s Idaho National Laboratory Site. During that time, she has provided leadership in all aspects of the EM cleanup mission at the site, involving high-level radioactive waste, low-level and transuranic radioactive waste, spent nuclear fuel, and contaminated buildings, sites, and special nuclear material. She has served as acting manager since November 2019.
“Connie has proved to be effective in leadership positions she has held at headquarters and since she has been on the Idaho Cleanup Project,” EM Senior Advisor Ike White said. “We are looking forward to Connie continuing to carry on progress on site cleanup and waste management, and demonstrating DOE’s strong commitment to the cleanup mission in Idaho.”
Flohr has more than 30 years of DOE and other department-related budget, planning, and leadership experience. Immediately prior to her move to Idaho, she served as deputy assistant secretary for resource management at EM headquarters, responsible for budget, planning, information management systems, and human capital management for the EM complex. She also served as EM’s budget director for nearly a decade.
Flohr joined the Department in 2001, and soon after was reassigned to the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, where she was a key member on DOE’s team to implement budget and performance integration under the President’s Management Agenda. Flohr entered the Senior Executive Service in 2010, and has proven herself as a strong leader and effective communicator.

Flohr earned her bachelor’s degree in business/finance and accounting, and also obtained a master’s of business administration (marketing) from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
